Practice. Practice. Practice.

That's the only way to get better at what you are doing. So today I have been busy doing exactly that. I really like free motion stitching but my hands are not steady enough for this type of "drawing" on fabric. So I've decided to practice a bit. Make something quite small.

These squares are about 2.5" with tiny appliques in the middle that fit in 0.5" square. I am using calico for this exercise, I thought that linen would be too precious for a "work out" like that. A collection of pictures featuring fruit and vegetables signed in running writing.

I have no idea at the moment what I am going to turn them into but I am really enjoying the process of creating these lovelies. I am sure one day they would come in handy but for now I just like my simple exercise.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Larisa xox

    1. They are so quick and easy to make because you don't really have to be precise. I like your suggestions, Gina! I am curious myself to see where they would end up. Apple is my favourite too. :-)

    2. Thank you, Dina! They are really easy to make, the only things you need are a good light and small pointy (embroidery) scissors. I had so much fun making them.

  3. They are lovely, I admire the fact that someone as accomplished as you still wants to practice and improve x

    1. Carole, thank you very much! There are so many things I still have to learn. I am never 100% happy with my work because I always see some room for improvement and without practice (and making mistakes as well) I can't get better. Plus - it was so much fun. :-)
