Tutorial: Teeny Tiny Tote

Welcome to "A Season of Kindness" sewing with Sip Tea and EPP party and its hosts Irina and Larisa. Last year I shared with you Gift Tags and Postcard Coster tutorials and Irina shared her sweet Christmas Bauble Coaster and Scandinavian Christmas Ornament. This week Irina also shared darling Mini House Gift Box tutorial.
This year I have designed this cute tiny tote that can be a lovely addition to any gift. You can put a few small treats in it or a gift card or a small toy. From my own experience I can tell that small children love to carry around tiny totes. You can easily use it in your sewing room for storage of some sewing notions as well.

Denim Kindle Sleeve. Part 1

If you have been following me for a while, you might know that I love simple makes. Makes that take little time to finish, makes that can be used and makes that can be beautify with cute details. I have been working with denim this week as a part of Sew Easy Summer Sew Along for Sip Tea and EPP and it's been fun. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to sew with denim.

Fabric Grain

What is fabric grain? What does it mean to cut the fabric on the straight or cross grain? How to find the right grain especially if you work with tiny pieces of fabric without a directional pattern? Why do you need a bias binding? Keep reading if you would like to know the answers to these questions and hopefully by the end of this post you will learn something useful and helpful.

Hexagon Templates

Welcome to the Sip Tea and EPP party! Irina @nordiccrafter and I are very excited to start our new adventures this year with a Mystery Hexagon Project. And as the name suggests, you will need hexagons for this sweet item that we are going to sew in unison.

I have put together a one page file for your convenience. All you need to do is to print this page out and cut out your own shapes. Please check the 1" square to make sure that the hexagons are of the right size. And one more thing - don't forget to use a separate pair of scissors for this step! :-)

Happy partying! Larisa xo

Little Town Stitching Pattern

When I just stated sewing years ago, I designed this simple stitching pattern that is done with only backstitch, almost like a pencil sketch, and a few small patches of colour. A couple of years ago I stitched my Little Town again, but left it unfinished. I am ready now to turn it into something special, but I need to add a few more touches to it first.
