Tea Time

I did a lot of fussy cutting a week ago trying to save all the cupcakes, little ducklings, elephants and Belle and her friend Boo along with some little pirates and cute pair waking in the woods. These sweet snippets, that I could not part with, made me want to sew right away.

A cup of tea and a few cupcakes is just what I need for my afternoon tea. Well, maybe one cupcake is more than enough for me, but for this little tea bag wallet I needed four cupcakes and a cup of tea. I made the tiniest kind of an unfinished granny squares block or, as I was told, it's almost like a Raspberry Kiss block (there is so much to learn about quilting!). Whatever it is, I had fun fussing with these pretties.

I used linen and Petite Fleur from Ministry of Fabric, along with "Tea Party" by Belle and Boo. The wooden tea cup button is by Barb Smith at Theodora Cleave. It was such a lovely quick and easy scrappy project that I enjoyed so much. I am not sure if this tea bag wallet is really useful, but it was fun to make.

I could not go without a little label on the back. "Find Pleasure" it says. How true! We should all look for small things that make us happy, nothing major, but rather tiny things that bring us joy and put a smile on our faces.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend! May you find little pleasures in whatever you do. Larisa xox

  1. Larisa, lovely post :) I myself am easily excited by tiny projects involving fussy cutting (to save every little scrap) *and* tea related subjects.... I have a mood board dedicated to the latter and hope to make some cosy kitchen things soon, be they practical or childishly cute... just decorations that include my favourite crafts & techniques
Thank you for sharing. It's beautiful

    1. Thank you, Lily! So you are a tea drinker as well! Which one is your favourite? I cannot imagine my day without a cup of tea. Even though I enjoy my morning coffee, the rest of the day is all about tea. Mood board? That sounds interesting! I would love to have a sneak peek at it. :-) I find small projects very satisfying because they don't require much time to finish and all that fussy cutting just adds to it all. Do you have a blog? Are you on Instagram or Flickr? :-)

    2. My moodboard is way too simple to show :) it's fragments of projects or patterns in digital format - cross stitch and sewing, feltwork, patchwork & even cartonnage.
I felt inspired by little sewn teabags I came across (by Patchwork pottery for example) and by Helen Philipps's kitchen things, like tea cosies :)) I was just distracted by Easter decorations lately...
I like green tea with lemon, and earl grey of course :)
I abandoned blogging, but I have a picasa album for sharing my work here https://picasaweb.google.com/114301807960405960345/Loisirs?authkey=Gv1sRgCIn36bqE0erQ1gE
If you care to look :)
Thanks for today's post. Sweet embroidery, and a piece of heart shared...

    3. Thank you, Lily, for sharing your moodboard! It's a lovely collection of tiny projects! Cute pincushions and I really like that little bag for soap. What a nice gift idea! have to agree with you, Helen Philipps' work is very inspiring.
Earl Grey is my favourite too! It's afternoon here, so I might treat myself with a cup right now. :-)
Thank you for taking time to stop and read my blog, Lily! xox

    1. Thank you so much for your complement! I am really happy you like my blog. Belle and Boo is amazing, I just bought three new prints and cannot wait to make something with them. I like your Belle and Boo embroidery and the way you use the little tin for embroidery floss snippets. I might do the same. :-) Thank you for visiting my blog!
