Block No. 4 is called "Happy Happy" and is designed by Jen Kingwell. It was a fun and easy block, but a bit time consuming to make. These circles are really small. Tiny, and you have to be careful with stitching the circles in place to keep the shape nice and even.
So far it's been a great experience, I managed to stay within the time frames and have not struggled much with choosing prints, colours and following techniques. I am working on a short tutorial to show you how to do hand applique, the same way as I did for this bag a while back and for the block above. So stay tuned and have a great day! Larisa xox
Both blocks are delightful. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dina! They are really lovely. Each design is unique and different in terms of techniques and ideas. :-)
DeleteThey are both gorgeous Larissa.I have almost finished my hearts, pretty finicky but nice to do.Only 90 or so to gox
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carole! I am so glad you joined The Splendid Sampler! I am not even trying to think about the 100 number, it scares me a lot. Hopefully I can make it to the very end. :-) Are you sharing your blocks anywhere?
DeleteHi Larissa! I haven't shared the blocks I have done anywhere as yet, perhaps I should, I will perhaps do 7 and then post! I am not going to keep up so now decided to be a bit selective but want to do them all eventually.Garden is calling now as it's Spring here.Don't know how you manage it with small children.xx
DeleteI totally understand, Carole, being selective about the blocks. I have to be honest, I do struggle with finding the time to sew or for anything else at all. But this project helps me in some ways being organized and do a bit more than I otherwise would. :-)
DeleteLarissa, have you looked at the Splendid Sampler FaceBook group? That's probably where I will post the ones I am reasonably happy with!
ReplyDeleteI am not on Facebook, Carole. But some of the block from Facebook group are being published on the The Splendid Sampler website, so I get a sneak peek too. :-)
