Molly and Mr Mouse

It's all about tiny details. Making a pouch or an envelope or anything else is always fun, but adding the final finishing touches is my absolutely favourite part. Working on tiny stitches, choosing the right small fun print, picking the ribbons and threads all add to the pleasure of sewing. It seems like April was mostly filled with making small fabric labels for me. How simple and cute is that label? Just a piece of the right fabric and a few tiny stitches.

My Old Friend Molly. Oh, how I wanted to make another version of a fabric envelope using the same design and I am glad that finally I found some time and the right materials. I machine stitched Molly and the butterflies. I hand embroidered all the flowers in the garden. For the body of the envelope I used linen and Outland Yarn Dye Chambray in Rose Feather that bought from Ministry of Fabric.

The idea for this envelope came when I saw this lovely Theodora Cleve wooden button made by Barb Smith. A little cartwheel filled with flowers. How sweet is that?!

Working on a label was a little project of its own. This time around I combined a pretty print with some linen, tiny stitches and a ribbon. This simple label makes the back of the envelope look really lovely.

If you have been following or simply visiting my blog from time to time, you might have seen the paper pieced Mushroom pattern that I published not long ago. You can find it here. That little mushroom was one of the prototypes that I could not throw away. So I found a perfect use for it - a flex frame pouch. They are always handy.

It's all in teeny weeny special touches. Just like the carrot and the radish that I hand stitched to make Mr Mouse feel happy with his little garden. I also made a tag on a side of the pouch with a buzzy bee. You can't have a garden without some bees, right?

To finish it off, I place a small label on the back. A label that is just perfect for Mr Mouse's garden.

Wishing you all a wonderful week filled with joy and inspirations! Larisa xox

    1. Fantastic, Teresa! Hope you enjoy sewing it! Finding the kids free time is not easy. I try sewing with my Little One around and sometimes a simple thing takes ages to complete. :-) But it will pass and I will miss this time. :-) Happy sewing!

  2. You must be so patient, Larisa. I'm not good at adding final touches and flourishes: it doesn't occur to me to add them and, even if it did, I always end up with too much or too little.

    2. Hi Dina, glad to see you here! I am still surprising myself with patience when it comes to sewing. As much as really enjoy fussing around with tiny details, sometime I feel like they are taking up way too much of my already limited sewing time, but I cannot help myself - I have to add them. :-) Hope you well, Larisa xox

  3. These are such adorable and sweet makes! All the extra little touches that you have added send them over the top with cuteness! I am making a pillow from your mushroom pattern right now and will post on IG when it is completed. Such a sweet pattern, thank you!
