Flex Frame Pouch

Hello my friends! I am so glad to see you all here! It's been a while since my last post. We were away on a short and kind of unexpected trip overseas. The tickets had to be booked, the bags had to be packed, some gifts had to be bought in a matter of just a few days... All of that didn't leave any time for me to finish the posts I was working on. Now we are back, back to our usual routine. And I am back to sewing and blogging of course. Even though I love travelling, it feels great to be back home!

This little thing that I made before we left, came in very handy on our trip. A flex frame pouch for "my best friend" Mr Handbag Hook. Yes! It's something a friend of mine gave me years and years ago knowing that I don't like putting my handbag on a floor when we are out and about. What a simple and marvellous invention it is!

Well, I was overjoyed when I received my gift. It found its place in my handbag and went with me everywhere. For many years I kept this hook in a flimsy, ugly looking drawstring bag but finally I made this pretty flowery pouch especially for it. And I love it!

The flex frame is so easy to use, just squeeze the sides and it's open. The floral print makes it pretty and a few finishing touches like the label and the tag give that extra special look to the pouch.

I really like this Spring Country Floral fabric by Concord House, delicate old fashioned roses and daisies on cream background. So simple and sweet.

Wishing you all some happy sewing, knitting, crocheting or any other type of crafting. Thank you for visiting! Larisa xo

  1. That's really cute. Wher do you get the frames from? I could do with something like that for my paperwork bus timetables etc when I go on one of my Bus Pass trips. I doubt mine would be as pretty as yours though with the little tags and labels etc.

    1. Thank you very much! I used this frame for the first time and I really like it, it looks good and easy to use. It would be perfect for small papers and cards. I bought mine in one of the local sewing stores (Spotlight) but they are available in different sizes on ebay and etsy. Thank you for visiting! :-)

  3. Hi Larissa, pleased that all is well with you. The pouch is really lovely and could have so many uses, the bendy closure thingy would work really well with my sunglass cases, I am going to give it a try, thanks as usual for sharing.

  4. beautiful pouch Larisa!! I love the small floral print. What a great find in the flex closure; that would be such a nice closure. I do not care for velcro and a zip may be too big for this and a button wouldn't work very well either. I had no idea a flex closure could be so easily found. Thanks again for some fresh inspiration!!

    1. Thanks, Gina! Same here, I am not a bit fan of velcro (I haven't even used it once) and I find buttons a bit too fiddly. I was really surprised how easy it is to sew the flex frame in and how well it works. I am definitely going to get more of them.
