Hello My Sweet Friends!

It feels like it's been so long since my last post here and I miss it so much. With my Little One turning into a real boy and giving up his day sleep and the summer school holidays, I find it more challenging to dedicate any time to my blog than ever before. I am spending snippets of my spare time sewing and reading, but mostly it's all about chasing my Little Monkey. But I do come here regularly and I am so grateful to you for visiting me, leaving your comments, asking questions and following my sewing adventures. Your support and encouragement is very important and dear to me. Thank you all so much! I hope you are having a good and very creative beginning of the year. I cannot believe that half of January has gone by already.

I would like to show you a few small things that I managed to finish at the end of last year, but have not shown you yet. The placemat that you can see in the photo above is one of my favourite mats ever. It's so light, delicate and full of petals. The inspiration came from Claudia on Flickr from a table runner that she made a while back. It was for the first time that I saw this approach of attaching the hexagons to the base fabric that really caught my attention. You quilt and sew the hexagons in place at once. How fabulous is that?! Most of the hexies are made from "Memoire a Paris" by Lecien and a couple of prints by Atsuko Matsuyama. For the base I used Japanese linen. Most of these prints can be purchased from Ministry of Fabric.

A baby bib with frayed edges has been on my list for a long time. It's such a quick and satisfying make sewn completely by hand. Based on the book "Sewn by Hand" by Susan Wasinger and made with linen and solids. Two Heather Ross patches were added along with two stitched kisses. I think I need to make a couple more of these bibs.

The last make was this Apple placemat that I made for a tiny swap I had with Bea based on the "Scandinavian Stitches" book. I always wanted to make a set of coasters or a table runner with apples and this swap seemed like a great opportunity to try this pattern. So much fun to make! I also sent this "Glass of Milk" mini place mat to Bea for her Little Princess. I am going to write more about this mat a bit later, but I have to say that I am in love with that Boo Bunny.

Have a wonderful week and enjoy whatever craft you do! Larisa xox

    1. Hi Joanna! So lovely to see you here! I do miss blogging and writing tutorials. Hopefully I would settle into a better blogging routine soon. I just need to teach my Little One not to touch Mama's camera while it's on a tripod so I can take proper photos for the blog. :-) Hope you and your Little Ones are good. xox

  3. More lovely makes, Larisa. I have done very little sewing recently - I really must sort myself out and start stitching again.
