Baby Bib

A last minute present for a little girl. I was meeting a lady I used to work with who had a baby girl a month after me. I felt like making something special for the Baby. What could be better than a bib? They always are useful and if they are pretty, it's a plus too.

This bib is tiny, a perfect size for a baby from birth to about 18 months especially when all that teething is causing a lot of drooling. A layer of cotton batting makes this bib quite absorbent and gives the bib a nice shape.

A tiny pink yo-yo, a simple but sweet addition to decorate the front. The back of the bib is bright yellow without any extra decorations but it can be used as a front as well. Just recently I started using rick rack trim in my work and I have to say that I really like the effect it gives.

I added a hand topstitch around the edge of the bib that looks much better than the machine one. I have to say that I am addicted to pink colour. Every time I am shopping for fabric I try hard to stay away from pinks but once I see it, I have to get it. I just love it. I always did.

Happy sewing everybody! Larisa xox

  2. Lovely Larisa! And the pink yo-yo, such a cute addition, we often see little bows or flowers, but a yo-yo is so much fun and original! I am sure the baby loved it as well ;) x

    1. Thank you, Ann, for your complement! I enjoy making yo-yos, they are so sweet and I really like they way they look as small decorations. :-)
