Cross-Stitch Linen Coasters

I am in love. In love with my newly created linen coasters. I think they are my favourite creation at the moment. These little owls are very special to me because they signify the beginning of my stitching adventure. I embroidered them last year, when all of a sudden I had an urge to give cross-stitching a try. I had no idea at that time that I would start a blog, would keep sewing and embroidering and would meet many interesting people on the way.

Coasters are very useful in our family. You see, we drink a lot of tea. In the morning, during the day and even late at night. I especially enjoy my afternoon cup of tea after a busy day. It's the time when we can sit with my not so Little Boy and have a chat over a cuppa about the things we did during the day. Do you like tea or you are more of a coffee drinker?

A set of two coasters featuring lovely little owls. Cross-stitch on Irish linen that is a pleasure to work with. A tiny tag, running stitch around the edges - a few simple touches to give the coasters a pleasant and finished look. On the back side I used polka dot linen printed in Japan. I like the muted shades of pink, green and blue. With the Christmas coming, making coasters could be a good idea. They are easy and quick to make, and inexpensive too. They would make a wonderful gift for family and friends I think.

My dear Husband said that these two are too cute to be used and added that they are definitely not leaving our home, they are staying here. Hehe... Making coasters is an absolutely happy process. It's quick, it's easy and very, very addictive. What is your latest addiction?

    1. Thank you Gina! The backing fabric was lying around for a while and I could not find a way to use it. I like how it matches the owls.
