Lovely Scraps

We've got a Mousey Mouse in the house. Not a big Mousey, but a very cute one. The one that looks at you with big eyes and a sweet smile and your heart just melts, no matter what that Mousey does, how naughty or mischievous it gets at times.

Well, this Mousey Mouse of ours munched on the bumper bar of the pram. All it really took was just one bite for him to get through the leather. And then another one while I was paying for the groceries. So we ended up taking the bar off completely, because every time it was in place, the Mousey could not help but chew on it.

But Mousey likes holding on to the bar while out and about. So I came up with a simple solution - a patchwork cover for the bumper bar. No pattern, no instructions, just pieces of lovely scraps stitched together and then sewn into a tube that is easy to slide on to the bar. Even though the cover is made of fabric, it would be easy to take off and wash and I hope the Mousey won't chew on it.

The pram looks so bright and happy now, that it makes me want to run to my sewing machine and make a matching seat cover as well. It will be very useful and I will get a chance to use up more of the scraps. It seems like I never can run out of them.

Mousey Mouse is very curious about the new accessory for the pram, he keeps patting it with his tiny hands and scratching the pictures with his tiny fingers.

Off we go out of the house. After a few very hot days the weather has finally cooled down, so now we can get some fresh air and test our new accessory as well. Have a wonderful week! Larisa xox

  1. What a lovely, bright and cheerful cover to hide the damage caused by your tiny Mousey Mouse!

    1. I am really happy with this small and simple creation, Dina. It seems like the solution is really working - our Mousey Mouse is no longer biting the bar. :-) I am glad you liked the idea. Thank you for visiting!

    1. Little Mice grow too fast! We are looking at our Little One and it seems that only yesterday we brought him home, but he is already walking, talking and munching on EVERYTHING! (including my fabrics and thread bobbins) :-)
