Origami Fabric Pouch

Look at this little cutie! I always wanted to try fabric origami and last week I got a chance to do just that.

Dina wrote an easy to follow tutorial with photos for this origami folded pouch. When I saw it, I wanted to give it a try right away. I even had a test run, something I never really do but this time I wanted it to be perfect. Why? Because it's origami of course and you have to be precise.

When I was making the pouch, there was no particular purpose for it, I just felt like making it. But once it was finished, I knew that it would be just perfect for some necklaces, especially as a take along little pouch for jewellery. Dina is right, it's very versatile and can be easily used for anything depending on its size.

I made my pouch using a 10" square, so it's quite small but that's the way I like it. It mostly sewn by hand which is really therapeutic. Very quick, simple and a lot of fun. Thank you, Dina!

  1. It's beautifully done, as your work always is, Larisa, and I really like the fabric you've used.

    1. Thank you, Dina! I really like this print by Sugar & Spice. The fabric is just the right weight for items like this pouch and is very easy to work with. And purple is my favourite colour. :-)

  2. Beautiful pouch!!! Your fabric selection really compliments the origami and carries through with the Japanese theme. Hope your arm is healing properly and you are getting close to using your machine!!

    1. Thank you, Gina! I am really pleased with the way this little cutie turned out. My arm is healing well and I am so happy to be out of the cast. My arm kept getting stuck in the sewing machine because of it but now I am free. :-)

  3. Just testing the blog, it doesn't seem to like my ipad. I have emailed to say how much I loved the pouch.

    1. Thank you, Carole! The pouch turned out much better than I expected, probably because of this beautiful fabric. The cast is off and I feel so much better now. :-)
