Just an Idea

While working on my latest embroidery, I kept thinking about all the short bits and pieces of embroidery floss I have accumulated in the box with the bobbins. You know, the ones that are not long enough to be wrap onto a bobbin but still not short enough to be thrown away. I just kept pushing them all into one small compartment of the box. Stitch by stitch I kept looking at this ball of "mess" and I kept thinking.

Until I got an idea that I would love to share with you. Who knows, you might find it useful too. I bought a pack of wooden craft stars in three different sizes (they are really small) and a pack of mounting tape. Off I rushed home to get started on sorting out that colourful messy ball of embroidery bits and pieces. It took some time and some patience as well but I am so happy with the end result. What do you think?

All the short snippets are wound on the stars and stored in a glass jar. It's a breeze finding what I am looking for now, there are no knots, no mess, no frustration, just pretty happy colourful stars. Happy organising! Larisa xox
