That's the question I keep asking myself daily. Am I trying to get my hands on too many things at the same time? Or is it my sleep deprived mind that cannot settle on one thing and needs a constant change? Whatever it is that makes me be that way, I kind of like it because I can choose what I am going to work on when I have a few spare minutes and not really worry about finishing it. This little project is something I am making with a very narrow bias tape. It's perfect for this fabric weaving idea. Don't you like all these pretty flowers?
This paper piecing idea was inspired by the Splendid Sampler
block No.22 "Sweet Candy". It was getting late and I was supposed to get much needed rest, but instead I surrounded myself with paper, pencils, fabrics and spent the next couple of hours making this. I messed up the middle part of this block, made too many parts instead of just three, but it can be easily fixed next time.
My pretty rainbow. Rainbow of flying geese. I absolutely love how this piece turned out and I cannot wait to finish it. I am planning to make a simple fabric envelope. But I really like the way it looks just as a mini quilt.
This Mousey embroidery has been on my list for a few years now and I am so glad that finally I gave my sketch a test. It's coming along nicely and going to be turned into a small pillow. You can see one of the needle minders that I made earlier right in action. It really is much easier to keep an eye on my needle this way.
Do you start many projects and keep switching between them all? Or you prefer to work on one project at a time and complete it before starting the next one? Hope you are having a great day. Larisa xox
I know EXACTLY what you mean Larisa! I get seized by trying something new and throw myself into it whole-heartedly, but then there's the blanket I'm working on, and the doll - oh and I must finish that embroidery! The rainbow of flying geese is fab and the needle minder is ingenious! Xx
ReplyDeleteThat's totally me! I cannot keep working on a project if I have a new idea buzzing in my head. I have to give it a go even I know that I have no time to finish it. The flying geese have been turned into an envelope that I am going to post about very soon. The needle minder was one of these "buzzing" ideas and I am so glad I put everything aside and made it. Very useful little thing. :-) Thank you for visiting, Sherry!
DeleteI really like to have several pieces of work on the go as my choice of project to work on depends on what I fancy doing at the time. I love your needle minder - what a good idea! I can see me making these as gifts for stitchy friends.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so lovely to see you here, Dina! Thank you for popping in to check up on me and leave a comment! It makes perfect sense to have a few different projects on the go. I am still adjusting to sewing with my little one. Sometimes it's easier to do some hand embroidery sitting right on the floor, others it's easier to do some machine sewing. I think you will enjoy making needle minders, you might even get carried away with using all the tiny scraps of fabric. They would make lovely gifts for your stitchy friends. :-)
