Simple Zippy Pouch

Happy New Year Everybody! May this year bring you joy, health, happiness and new inspirations. Hope you have had a lovely start to the new year and now you are full of energy and creative buzz. Here is the first make of this year.

A small and simple zippy pouch. It felt so nice to sit down, design, choose fabrics and sew without being rushed and without thinking that other, more important things needed to be done. Oh, the pleasure of simple sewing.

Linen and cotton, a few stitches and a pastel pink zip. Nothing else was needed for this little but useful pouch. Micro dots in brown on white for the lining and a plain label on the back side. I was lucky last week to find a roll of cotton ribbon with "handmade" designs on it.

It's so hot here in Australia at the moment but I shouldn't complain really because it's summer after all. But I do. Always. It's hot and humid and it feels like all the energy has left my body and whatever leftovers I have are only being used for breathing. I kept coming to my sewing machine over and over again during the past week, but the lack of energy wouldn't let me work at all. So I am quite happy that I was able to overcome the lack of energy and sleepiness and work on something simple and nice. Larisa xox

  3. The heat zaps me too! And it is so hard to have the added heat of the iron and sewing machine lights!!! You pouch is beautiful! I love your combination of fabrics and the zipper on the front instead of the top! I hope you had a beautiful Christmas!!!!

    1. That's exactly right, Gina! I couldn't stand using the iron, it only made things worse. Thank you for your comment! Hope you too had a lovely Christmas with the family!
